Just as any other metropolitan city, Barcelona is magically covered in lightning during the Christmas period. Besides the beautiful decorations all over the city, Barcelona exhibits some pretty amazing Christmas markets as well. Here you have an overview of the ones you should definitely put on your to-visit list:

Fira de Santa Llúcia

Let’s first start off with probably the most well-known Christmas market of Barcelona. Fira de Sana Llúcia market is not a typical German one, it is an authentic Spanish market. Therefore, some of you might be disappointed when not finding any gluwein or bratwurst. Of course, this does not mean that the Christmas vibes will not get to you. At the Fira de Sana Llúcia Christmas market, you will find plenty of little stalls with all hand-made and artisanal products. Besides the artisanal section, Christmas trees, Caga Tiós (we let you discover yourself what this is), Christmas decorations and mistletoes can be bought as well.

Fira de Nadal a Sagrada Familia

Second on the list is the Fira de Nadal market, spread out in the gardens surrounding Gaudi’s most famous artwork, la Sagrada Familia. It is said that this market offers you the same range of stalls as the first one on the list, the only difference is the beautiful location. Lovers of Gaudi know where to go.

Fira de Reis de la Gran Via

This Christmas market along the very well-known Gran Via running through whole Barcelona is originally known for the wide range of kids’ toys and sweets. During the years, the offer of products has expanded to decoration, clothes, accessories, jewelleries and other crafts. Since the Day of the Three Kings is as important as Christmas day itself, the market ends on this particular day, with a huge celebration.

Fira de Nadal a Placa Catalunya

Of course, Placa Catalunya could not be dismissed of having a Christmas market as well. A lot of activities for both families and kids are organized on the probably most famous square of Barcelona. The Responsible Consumption Fair market can be found here as well. This is a sustainable and fair-trade festival where handmade and sustainable gifts can be bought.

Fira de Nadal a l’Eix CorEixample

The Fira de Nadal at Eixample is organized with the partners of the Coreeixample association consisting of around 200 enterprises in the Eixample area. This Christmas market only last one day, but is definitely worth a visit to attend free concerts, workshops and food tastings alongside the classic Christmas gift shops.
